I'm honored to be a bereavement resource volunteer facilitating dreams groups at the Healing Hearts Foundation GRIEF RESOURCE DAY OF HOPE in Coral Springs, FL. This event is presented by The Bobby Resciniti Healing Hearts Foundation and will be a day dedicated to offer bereavement resources to the Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School students, faculty, families, first responders and community.
In my program, DREAMING THE WAY TO HEALING we bring the dream images from the inner world to the outer world to express their truth, giving voice to the unspeakable. Working in pairs or small groups, participants will be guided by CARLA BLOWEY to share dreams in the projective format using the MIPD Dream Work Tool Kit© (Jeremy Taylor). The projective format empowers the dreamer to simply see the dream from another perspective rather than receive a biased or judgmental “interpretation”. The dreamworkers role in hearing the dream is to view it as their own “imagined version” of the dream offering insights, questions and feedback based on their perceptions to the dreamer. Keeping in mind that only the dreamer knows for sure what his/her dream means for them, projective feedback prompts the dreamer’s memory for greater recall and offers a richer, deeper, and honest view of the grief issue. Dream sharing groups, individual sessions and information on dream work will be offered throughout the day in the HEALING THROUGH THE ARTS VILLAGE. Participants will be encouraged to visit the ARTFUL GRIEF OPEN ART STUDIO with Sharon Strouse in the Healing through the Arts Village to create a collage based on the insights received in group work.
