Workshop Descriptions for 2005 Bereaved Parents of the USA Gathering

"Dreams: A Blessing in Disguise for Grieving Parents"

In this powerful program, Carla Blowey invites bereaved parents to recognize their dreams as a valuable tool for healing loss and grief. In simple terms, Carla explains that our dreams often mirror our grief journeys with symbols, metaphors and memories pointing to issues and hidden agendas blocking the path to acceptance and reconciliation. Carla shares excerpts from her book, Dreaming Kevin and personal dream journal to illustrate the different levels of dreaming. Using our intuition, prayer and discernment we can interpret our dreams to reveal the guidance and wisdom offered to each of us from our children and the Divine.

"The Phenomenon of After Death Communication"

Join Authors, Carla Blowey, Mitch Carmody, Judy Collier, and Sandy Goodman as they share their personal stories of the After Death Communications with their child  that changed their life.  Many bereaved parents have experienced this same phenomenon sometime in their bereavement process. Come share your stories and celebrate the many creative and ingenious ways our children break through from the other side.

"So, You Want to Write a Book"

Making Your Grief Three-Dimensional…How do I go about writing a book? This workshop will be lead by Mitch Carmody . Bereaved Parents authors,  Carla Blowey, Judy Collier, and  Sandy Goodman will join in  a panel discussion.

Mitch says:
"I will touch on my own journey of grief and how it transmogrified into something beautiful; something, you can hold in your hand. Creating a book is creating a three dimensional representation and product of your grief; a legacy to your undying love for your child, a catharsis for your soul in its writing, a tool the help others find light in the darkness, and a source of joy in its creation.

That’s the easy part. We shall also discuss journaling , manuscript rules, editing, poems, prose, constructing a story line, photos, artwork, publishers, self publishing, vanity presses, the design studio, the printer, marketing, how much will it $$COSTS $$ ? This will be a very interactive workshop with plenty of time for questions and answers for getting started. Writing a book is a considerable challenge and a huge time gobbler but it can change your life. You can make the project as simple or complex as you want. You can spend very little money, or quite a bit, but the end result for your heart will be the same.
